A lead $1 million gift, donated by the Building Trades of Alberta (BTA) Charitable Foundation created our world class facility where new beginnings are born and nurtured using the latest advances in rehabilitation equipment combined with leading- edge technology.
Think robotics (made possible by The United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters and Pipefitters Local Union 488). Think virtual reality (made possible by The International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Local 146). Think simulation and gaming (made possible by the Construction and General WorkersTM Union Local 92. Think cognitive learning zone (made possible by The Alberta Regional Council of Carpenters and Allied Workers).
The Government of Canada (Department of National Defence), the Government of Alberta, Alberta Health Services and our Foundation launched the CAREN (Computer Assisted Rehabilitation Environment) virtual reality system which is housed in the CIM Centre.This is the only clinical unit in Western Canada.
